The main difference between Betrayal and Estrangement is that betrayal is an action that shows the lack of trust or that violates someone else\u2019s known standards. Estrangement is a broken or ruptured relationship that usually results in alienation. Not all betrayal, ends up as alienation or estrangement depending on the level. About Me<\/span><\/h1>\n

Estrangement on it\u2019s own causes immeasurable pain and anguish for parents or grandparents but when it is a calculated betrayal by a son or daughter, the trauma can be all encompassing. And the trauma can and will have lasting effects on us, something our own sons and daughters seem to not give a second thought too, most times. There are ways to combat the trauma of separation from those we love but it\u2019s not always a cut and dried method. It takes hard work sometimes to even accept that the children we raised and loved can do this to their own parents. Thankfully, many of us will never know the feelings of abandonment by our own loved ones although there has been a noticeable increase in estrangement in recent years.
