The main difference between Betrayal and Estrangement is that betrayal is an action that shows the lack of trust or that violates someone else’s known standards. Estrangement is a broken or ruptured relationship that usually results in alienation. Not all betrayal, ends up as alienation or estrangement depending on the level. For our author, his son’s betrayal was at such a steep level it caused him enough extreme trauma that at one point he was under suicide watch for 5 days.
